Thierry Gougy is a partner at Dumon Partners, where he focuses on international transactions, taxation and the support of investors operating in emerging markets. With more than twenty years of experience advising international groups on their establishment and development across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, he has gained deep expertise in navigating complex economic, regulatory and tax environments.

After eighteen years spent in various Asian jurisdictions and two years in Morocco, Thierry has developed a rare, on-the-ground understanding of local market dynamics. He previously served for more than a decade as a partner at DFDL in Southeast Asia, where he led major cross-border transactions, advised institutional investors and coordinated multidisciplinary teams on projects involving significant legal, tax and strategic considerations. His experience also includes work in several African countries, notably Ethiopia, in connection with economic-opening initiatives and investment projects.

Thierry brings a pragmatic approach grounded in local realities, risk management and a clear understanding of clients’ business imperatives. He joins Dumon Partners with the ambition to contribute to an agile and entrepreneurial practice, centred on execution, direct engagement with leaders and investors, and the ability to transform regulatory challenges into strategic opportunities.
